JAMB has announced that so far about one million candidates have already registered for the ongoing 2026 UTME. The information was disclosed in the official Bulletin of the Board. Candidates are to note that the sales of ePIN will end February 26th while registration ends February 28th, 2026

JAMB advised all candidates who desire to sit for the examination to register immediately, as the Board will not extend the registration deadline under any circumstance. The Board stated that it has observed with concern the near absence of candidates at many accredited registration centres at this stage of the exercise. This recurring pattern where candidates deliberately delay registration until the final days and subsequently begin to agitate for an extension will not be entertained in 2026.

The Board warns that it is aware of deliberate efforts by examination cheats and individuals posing as tutorial centre owners who mislead candidates into delaying registration in anticipation of an extension. According to the Board, JAMB says no extension of 2026 UTME registration, this tactic is aimed at forcing mass registration at the last minute to facilitate examination malpractice.

The Board stated unequivocally that there will be no extension of the 2026 UTME registration period, which began on Monday, 26 January 2026, and was clearly scheduled to last five weeks. That timeline remains unchanged.

So far, about one million candidates have indicated interest in the examination, with many already purchasing their ePINs and expected to complete registration promptly. JAMB explained that extending the registration period is impracticable, as its operational calendar is tightly aligned with those of other examination bodies.

JAMB says no extension of 2026 UTME registration, Candidates are therefore advised to register early, avoid last-minute rushes, and disregard any claims suggesting an extension as the Board will not be held responsible for candidates who fail to register within the stipulated period.
