Basic Admission Requirements

  • Five O/Level credit passes, including English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower (2:2) in Allied Health Sciences, Biological Science, or Biomedical Sciences (e.g., Microbiology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing).
  • Upper credit pass in a relevant Postgraduate Diploma may be considered.
  • Nursing programmes require a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Candidates applying for Master’s in Public Health must select an area of concentration.

Programme Duration

  • Doctoral (Full-time) – Minimum 36 months, maximum 72 months.
  • Doctoral (Part-time) – Minimum 60 months, maximum 96 months.
  • Master’s (Full-time) – Minimum 21 months, maximum 30 months.
  • Master’s in Community Health (Full-time) – Minimum 12 months, maximum 18 months.
  • Part-time Master’s – Minimum 21 months, maximum 24 months.
  • Postgraduate Diploma (Full-time) – Minimum 12 months, maximum 18 months.

Admission Criteria

  • Five O/Level credit passes, including English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  • Bachelor’s degree with Third Class or HND in Allied Health Sciences, Biological Science, or Biomedical Sciences.
  • PGD Nursing requires an HND in Nursing with registration from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Professional Diploma in Care-Giving

This programme is for individuals working or intending to work in caregiving and healthcare sectors, including:

  • Hospices
  • Disability services
  • Special schools
  • Vocational training centres

Admission Requirements

  • HND/Bachelor/Master’s/PhD Degree in any field.
  • Professional Certificate in a health-related area.
  • Mature candidates (25 years and above) with five O’Level credits and at least three years of work experience.

Application Fee and Deadline

  • Application Fee – ₦30,000 (non-refundable).
  • Payment Method – Through REMITA on the University of Abuja Integrated Portal at 👉 University of Abuja Portal.
  • Programme Duration – Six months (two semesters).
  • Course Facilitation – 50% virtual, 50% physical.
  • Examination Modes – Virtual and physical.
