Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, is set to hold its 28th Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Faculty of Law Auditorium.
The lecture, titled “‘Shorsh,’ ‘Sors’ or ‘Church’ – Who Cares? Accents and Linguistic Capital in Nigeria,” will be delivered by Prof. Bolanle Olufumbi Sogunro, a distinguished Professor of Sociophonetics from the Department of English in the Faculty of Humanities. The lecture is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m., with guests expected to be seated by 10:30 a.m.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, is the Chief Host of the day.
