The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a mandatory, one-year program for Nigerian university and polytechnic graduates to serve in a different part of the country to promote national unity and development. Established in 1973 after the Nigerian Civil War, its objectives include fostering national integration, instilling patriotism, and preparing youths for national service through a three-week orientation course and subsequent deployment to various communities. Participants receive an allowance and a certificate upon completion.
